A Taxpayer Identification Number (TIN) will be mandatory for all vehicle registration and transfer of a vehicle from February, says the Motor Transport Commissioner.
According to that, it is not possible to carry out the work by arriving without obtaining that number, Motor Transport Commissioner General Nishantha Anuruddha Weerasinghe said in a press conference. Currently, due to the blockages in the Inland Revenue Department’s system, this will be mandatory from February 1st.
