The protest movement started by the electricity workers against the proposed bill for the restructuring of the Electricity Board continues today (04) for the second day.
Accordingly, the general secretary of the union, Ranjan Jayalal, says that the power minister is being forced to immediately withdraw the proposed bill, and a massive protest movement will be held in front of the main office of the electricity board today.
However, steps were also taken to issue a special circular canceling the leave of all the employees of the Ceylon Electricity Board.
