The Sri Lanka squad for the three-match one-day cricket tournament to be held against the Zimbabwe team has been named.
The selection committee chairman Upul Tharanga officially announced the squad at a press conference currently being held in Colombo.
17 players have been included in the squad under the leadership of Kusal Mendis and vice-captain Charith Asalanka and it is stated that Chamika Karunaratne, Chamika Gunasekara, Asitha Fernando and Kamindu Mendis, who were included in the initial one-day squad, have not been named in the final squad.
Former Captain Dasun Shanaka has been named for the ODI squad, and the new selection committee has taken steps to call players like Avishka Fernando, Nuvanindu Fernando, Janith Liyanage, Akila Dhananjaya, Jeffrey Vanderse and Sahan Arachchige to the ODI squad.
Upul Tharanga further stated that Wanindu Hasaranga will play for the tournament only if he is fit.
The Sri Lanka-Zimbabwe ODI series is scheduled to begin on January 6.
